The 22nd Winter games is about to take place in Sochi in Russia. It is the first winter Olympics for the Russian Federation. The event will host a number of sports such as skiing, snowboarding and bobsledding (I'm hoping for a Jamaican "cool runnings" entry).
Construction in preparation for the games has involved the building of new venues; and modernising the telecommunications, electric power, and transportation systems in the area. These improvements have included the construction of a new Olympic Park along the coast of the Black Sea in the Imeretin Valley. With expected temperatures of 8.3 degrees Celsius it is actually the warmest city to ever host the Winter Olympics. Still there better be some central heating.
Our team is already in Sochi and is about to support several installations ensuring quality transmission over multiple viewing platforms in the UK and the rest of the world. This means supplying top of the range equipment and of course being there in the cold supporting the production teams.
