We're in Great Yarmouth for the World Indoor Bowls Championships. Contestants from across the UK and the world have arrived to enjoy the prolonged tournament events, compete in the tournament main draw and enjoy the social side to the occasion.
The indoor Bowls World Championships is held at Potters Leisure Resort, Hopton on Sea, Great Yarmouth. It was the 35th annual World Indoor Bowls championships. Generally the sport is UK based however contestants from all over the world traveled to Great Yarmouth to compete. Eventually the winner Stewart Anderson didn't have to travel to far, he came from Scotland and competed in 5 rounds of one-to-one competition, finally defeating fellow Scottish professional Gourlay. Meanwhile in the woman's single Rebecca Field took home the victory after going through an intense and long final match.
Regardless of the competition Bowls has always been a social event. The World Indoor Championships makes the most of all its travelling competitors and spectators by hosting various events and celebratory occasions.
We worked tirelessly over the tournament period providing edited coverage on BBC2. Aside from playing the odd game of bowls we utilised trustworthy Avid equipment. Overall this was a great project to work on, whats even better is that it went without any hiccups.Kit List:
