‘David Brent: Life on the Road’, see’s Gervais reprise his role as office boss, David Brent, a middle of the road everyman with a talent for turning even the most ordinary situation into a cringe fest that will leave the most hardened viewers not knowing where to look.
The last time we saw Brent he was running (albeit not very successfully), his own office. However things have changed and time hasn’t been too kind to Brent. He now works as a sales man for a cleaning company in an office filled with vicious, cut throat salesmen who have no time for a character like Brent.
Ever the dreamer Brent decides he needs an escape from the humdrum of his everyday life and decides to take his band, ‘Foregone Conclusion’, on tour. He soon learns though that life on the open road, or just on the M25, may be not the escape he was looking for, as he faces off against disgruntled band members, empty gigs and the looming threat of bankruptcy as Brent funds the failing tour.
